Covid Vaccine for 16-17 year olds

If you are aged 16-17 years you are now eligible to receive a first dose of the covid vaccine.

The Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI) has recently advised that “at this time, all 16 to 17-year-olds should be offered a first dose of Pfizer-BNT162b2 vaccine. This is in addition to the existing offer of 2 doses of vaccine to 16 to 17-year-olds who are in ‘at-risk’ groups. Pending further evidence on effectiveness and safety in this age group, a second vaccine dose is anticipated to be offered later to increase the level of protection and contribute towards longer term protection.”

If you are aged under 17 and 9 months you cannot use the national booking system to arrange your vaccination.

You should attend the local GP-led vaccination centre to get your first dose. No appointment is needed, simply attend as a walk-in patient during the hours listed below.

Location:

Jubilee House, Lancashire Enterprise Business Park, Leyland, PR26 6TR

Time:

Every Wednesday from 8am – 1pm or 2pm – 8pm

Every Thursday from 8am – 1pm or 2pm – 8pm

Every Friday from 8am – 1pm or 2pm – 8pm

Every Saturday from 8am – 1pm or 2pm – 8pm

You will also receive a text message which will confirm your eligibility and encourage you to attend the above vaccination centre at Jubilee House in Leyland.

You will need to use your letter, text or email invite, together with proof of your address for the vaccination centre to check your eligibility. This should happen on arrival at the vaccination centre. You may also be asked for your date of birth.
