Patient Satisfaction Surveys:

Feedback from the 2008/09 Patient Satisfaction Survey is available here.

Changes to your health records

The NHS is introducing summary care records (SCRs). This is to improve the safety and quality of patient care. SCRs will give healthcare staff faster, easier access to reliable information about you to help NHS staff treating you, including in an emergency and when you use out-of-hours services when the surgery is closed. At first, your SCR will contain important information about your health, such as details of any allergies, current prescriptions and whether you have had any bad reactions to medicines. After that, each time you use any NHS health service, they may add details about any health problems and care provided. If you choose to have a SCR, NHS staff will ask you if they can look at it every time they need to. If you are happy to have a SCR, you DO NOT need to do anything and we will create a record for you. If you DO NOT want us to create a record for you, please sign an ‘opt out’ form at reception. If you require further information, phone the NHS information line on 0845 603 8510 or visit the website at www.nhscarerecords.nhs.uk

The Importance of using your unique NHS number:

Your NHS number is unique to you. Using your NHS number to identify you correctly is an important step towards improving the safety of your healthcare. For more information click here here.

New Calling System:

A new call system has now been installed in the surgery. The Doctors and Nurses will no longer call you to their rooms using the tannoy. Instead the new 'call system' will display your name on the television screen in the waiting rooms. When the Doctor or Nurse calls you in for your appointment, you will hear a loud bleep and your name will appear on the screen to inform you which room to go to. Your name will appear more than once. Please speak to a receptionist if you have any concerns.

General Surgery News:

Dr Stewart Jones has now left us for pastures new and we wish him all the very best for the future. We would like to welcome Dr Sarah Wilson our new FY2 from April 2010.

Ordering Repeat medication:

Patients can now register for Emis Access. This is the most secure way to order your repeat medication online, at your leisure, 24 hours a day. You can also check the times or cancel any existing appointments you may have and notify us of any change of address or contact telephone numbers. Please go to the 'Prescriptions' page of the web site for more information.
